This modification makes ‘shining’ items (default: Torch, Glowstone, Glowdust, Lit Pumpkin, Redstone, Lava Bucket, powered Minecart) illuminate everything around them if

• The player has them equipped (in hand/armor)
• They are dropped on the ground
• Another player has them equipped in Multiplayer

On top of that, burning Entities (Creatures, Items) shine light.

You may add any Item ID you wish as shiny item, via the settings file. Also supports armor items!

You may also configure whether an item still shines if in water, and how long it shines once you hold or drop it.

Toggle button ingame:

The default key is “L”. You can turn all dynamic Lights on/off with it. You can change the key in the config file.

There is no limit to the number of lights you can create, note however they are fairly FPS-costly, and the mod will attempt to reduce lighting render updates frequency if you overdo it.

I recommend using Optifine HD for replacing Notch’s funky render code with slightly less funky rendering code. Optifine should maintain full Dynamic Lights compatibility unless i break it.

The mod should work in Multiplayer by default, yet is clientside, it cannot lag servers. Note however ‘dropped’ light sources will not prevent Mobs from Spawning, and neither will your handheld light.

Instructions MCpatcher Version:

• 1) Locate your .minecraft folder. On Windows, it’s at %APPDATA%/.minecraft
• 2) Unzip the downloaded archive into that folder
• 3) Run the latest MCPatcher HD, select Dynamic Lights from the List, click ‘patch’
• 3b) For Optifine install Optifine first, then select Dynamic Lights Optifine from the list and patch.

What this mod does:

It is a merged and enhanced version of the 3 above mods. Changes include:

• Added new elemental Arrow, the Rope Arrow, which on Impact attempts to spawn a falling Rope (max 32 lenght)
• Rope Arrow against wall creates wallmounted Rope, hit against ceiling creates ceiling mounted rope
• Made elemental Arrow Mod SMP compatible (could not port Egg and Mob arrows, unfortunately)

Highlands was created to make exploring and living in the world of Minecraft more fun. It adds many more mountains and hills than in vanilla Minecraft. It includes many varied environments and sub-biomes that represent features like mountains, lakes, forest clearings, valleys, and islands. It uses no modded blocks in world generation, so worlds created with Highlands can be enjoyed by anyone with Minecraft.

All of the trees’ saplings can be created in survival mode, so you can add a unique touch of greenery to your structures and landscapes, build an epic treehouse, or chop down enough wood to last a lifetime. They require a bit of exploring to get, though, you will have to gather different types of wood and venture to the nether for soul sand before you can grow them.

Highlands also makes it more fun to explore underground. Most of biomes added by this mod have increased amounts of certain ores (usually, double normal). This way, you can find a certain biome to mine for diamonds, and another for iron, but you won’t find more of both in the same biome. Try and find out for yourself which biomes have more of which ores!

If you just want to get rolling in diamonds as soon as possible:

• Alps, Pinelands, and Mountains have more iron.
• Autumn Woods, Savannah, and Outback have more gold.
• Cliffs have all ores generate up to double height, with the same frequency.
• Highlands, Mixed forests, Tall Pine Forests, and Bogs have more coal.
• Tundra will generate ice underground (same frequency as coal).
• Woodland Mountains and Meadows have more diamonds and more underground water (Woodland Mountains also have more waterfalls).
• Rainforests and Tropics have more redstone and lapis lazuli.
• Volcanoes have double or triple of all ores, but have lava underground at the same frequency as iron.

There are two world types, Highlands and Highlands LB (Large Biomes). You can also use Highlands with default worlds, for compatibility with other mods.

Highlands was inspired mostly by Biomes o’ Plenty and ExtraBiomesXL (two amazing mods that are both compatible with Highlands, if you edit a few settings).

This mod adds four new weapons: Pistol, Double-Barreled Pistol, Musket, and Revolver. The Pistol fires a bullet, a one hit kill on any mob, and must be reloaded after each shot. It also isn’t too accurate. The double-barreled pistol and revolver do the same, but can hold two and six shots at a time, respectively. The musket fires one shot at a time, but is extremely accurate while requiring twice the gunpowder to load. It also has a bayonet, allowing it to do damage equivalent to an iron sword while melee attacking.

Loading these flintlock weapons in real life is quite cumbersome, and this mod replicates that. To load a weapon, you must craft together an unloaded one, gunpowder, and your ammo. The multi-shot weapons can do this multiple times to become fully loaded.

There are also two different ammo types: round shot and buckshot. Round shot can be loaded into any weapon, and fires a single, damaging bullet. Buckshot can only be loaded into the pistol and double-barreled pistol, and fires a spray of bullets that can damage multiple enemies.

A bit about the damage:

Pistols, Muskets, and Double-barreled pistols are a guaranteed one-hit kill on any regular mob (excluding the ender dragon and wither). As I don’t fully understand the projectile damage calculations in minecraft, I just threw random numbers in until it was balanced the way I wanted it. So I can’t exactly tell you how many hearts of damage a shot does, but it is at least 20, as that’s how many hearts a zombie has, and they can be killed in one hit. With the revolver and any gun firing buckshot, however, the shot may not be a one hit kill. Specifically, a bullet has a 1 in 4 chance of not being a one-hit kill. This was due to the revolver and buckshot being a tad OP.
